“Dear Friends,
Levon is in the final stages of his battle with cancer. Please send your prayers and love to him as he makes his way through this part of his journey. …
Thank you fans and music lovers who have made his life so filled with joy and celebration… he has loved nothing more than to play, to fill the room up with music, lay down the back beat, and make the people dance! He did it every time he took the stage…
We appreciate all the love and support and concern.
From his daughter Amy, and wife Sandy”
god-speed Levon

sitting on the porch…11pm….feels like 7 pm back home, 15+ hours of daylight right now and it’s only april….this might drive me crazy as the spring becomes summer…but, right now it’s pretty awesome…it got all the way up to 14 degrees today and only down to - 4 overnight….the roads are a fucking mess though…washboard way indeed. the folks are starting to roam the streets, old stock in hand…lots of work being tossed my way, the fam dam is doing good…pj can pantomime a monkey….things are looking way up…all the way up
to the top of the world.
I’ve also resurrected my old Trent Radio (http://www.trentu.ca/org/trentradio/) show for a new station (http://cfyt.ca/) and a whole bunch of new and twangy shows!
it’s been a month or two….i’ve been so busy working, loving, playing, creating and starting that i haven’t (honestly) had much time to contribute………in a nutshell: 4 day train ride to edmonton…..2 day bus ride to whitehorse…..8 hour flight to dawson (should’ve only been 2 hours, but the fog dictates.)…..drunk for a few days and than, just working…hard….building, playing, hiking…..this is the most beautiful place. for real………here’s some lyrics and a picture….”two kids and a dog and a beautiful wife and i live in a riverside town - get up too early in the morning, sweat until the sun goes down - friday you knock off early, tip a couple jars with the boys - so saturday’s a little bit fuzzy, head to the tavern and make some noise…..”

wow….crazy 36 hours…..too much beer, too much sun, too many cigarettes, too many fist fights, too much drama. i love you all.
i’ve been so damn busy sweating and working, i don’t have much to say. i’m leaving peterborough on august 4th and heading to dawson city for an indefinite amount of time (trying to repair bridges is hard)…i haven’t been out of ontario (other than ireland) in five years…so, that’s exciting. even bought a brand new bitchin’ backpack. lyrics, songs and photos to follow here: http://www.tumblr.com/tumblelog/sixdaysontheroad
LOOK at this! I just found this Woolworths Postcard of Peterborough! That’s George Street!
